Feelings #mentalhealthawarenessweek

I mentioned in my first blog how I was struggling with putting my artwork out there! This has been a big hurdle for me to overcome and a kind of personal success that I managed it. Although it is not getting any easier and sometimes I get so anxious and think I should unpublish the website and forget this whole thing... but it is anxiety talking.. and trying to step away to regroup my sanity and tell myself that this feeling will pass helps. Usually it does, but over the past few years I have learned to manage my anxiety by actually owning it and realising this is part of my make-up as a person. Being creative is my medicine and by taking myself off to my shed to paint or make something is my haven from this world and all the crazy goings on.

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem. The more we talk about it the more we can help each other.

This year the Mental Health Foundation has picked the theme, Kindness.. and I love this. It doesn’t take much to be kind to someone, or be kind to yourself.
